Everything is a trade-off, that's understood. This home is on Moreland Street, which fronts onto the I-10 Freeway. The Freeway is suppressed here, and the noise is audible but not awful. As a countervailing benefit, homes on Moreland have sweet views of the Downtown skyscrapers.

It occurred to me that that entire front porch and front patio could be enclosed in a green house or Arizona Room structure, providing both an enclosed garden and a sound buffer for the front of the home. When the weather is fine, Arcadia doors could let the outside in.
