Cathy has fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with a home at 320 W Bethany Home Rd in Phoenix. Greg likes it, too, but for practical reasons: It's an ideal location for launching our new real estate brokerage. Cameron and Meredith have weighed in, enthusiastically, as well. In fact, the house truly, madly, deeply suits all of our real estate needs: It's an amazingly excellent business location, it's huge and liveable, it's close to Cameron's schools and the rest of his in-city life, it offers two downstairs mother-in-law suites for our two non-upstairsish mothers-in-law, it's a great entertainment space, indoors and out, et endlessly cetera. Fabulous upside potential: It's offered with at least $80,000 of instant equity, and the downstream appreciation should be excellent. The immediate downside is that it's selling for $550,000, which is kind of a lot of money. We're essentially destitute, but that's a temporary nuissance. With a little tap-dancing, we could latch onto what will soon be a million-dollar home. Then all we gotta do is keep it...
