There’s always something to howl about

Update from 1 year ago. Page 32 of G till now.

For those of my friends on here, who remember. In 2010 I relocated my small real estate business to South Florida from Wisconsin. Everything was fine and dandy until I remembered that my position in Google will be starting over from page 1 to page 32. It is nearly one year ago (01-16-11) that I wrote a post on Bloodhound asking for some sympathy from fellow friends. To be frank about it, I was really struggling, with the move, life in general, a new baby, and trying to make it by selling real estate in a South Florida market. Although many agents are making bank, I have to watch every penny.

I am pleased to announce for the term “Boynton Beach Real Estate” I am now on the middle of page 2, and sometimes as high as the bottom of page 1. I want to personally thank all of you, for helping me in a time of need. Although I haven’t yet found the financial freedom I am looking for, I am least paying the bills…barely, but at least paying the bills. You know, looking back it’s the friends that I’ve made on Bloodhound that have really helped me out the most over the last two years blogging on here.

To cap off the year 2011, Russell Shaw commented on a blog I made on BHB! I thought that was so cool. What I’ve learned over the last year the most, is that, bills come and go, but memories are forever. In 2012 I’m going to put my focus on my family and 2 kids, and not my real estate business. Yes of course, I have to make a living for my family, but that’s not what it’s all about. I don’t know when the good Lord will call me home, but when he does, I want my family to be able to say, “you know, dad (me) worked hard for us, but he always put the family first no matter what kind of bills piled up”.

A special thank you to all my friends here on BHB, you’re all great! Let’s make 2012 a great year.

Congrats on the accomplishment Robert. I’m currently on a quest to do the same exact thing so I know how hard it is. Good luck on year two!

Hey Robert, well done on making it go right in 2011.

Looks like 2012 is going to be an awesome year for you too!!

Hey Robert — The memories I have of playin’ with my little girl, tellin’ her bedtime stories are priceless. Then there’s the almost decade of memories of being in the dugout with my boy, into high school. You’re a wise man.

I find almost everything you write quite moving, Robert. For now, my comment is that some people just reek of honesty and decency, and you’re one of them.

You’ll have a great 2012 because you know what you want, and what you want is right. The big secret is that this is all it takes.

I did read your post, actually pretty recently, on your discussion about your new ranking in Google. Congratulations on moving to the top of page two for a very high competition keyword. That is quite an accomplishment. Also, thanks for being so personal in your post. Best of luck to you.

It is an interesting update. I know what you mean, but it is not so easy to do it.

Keep plugging away when the kids are sleeping and you’ll creep up on page 1! I know how the struggle between family and work is. I have a 2 year old and another baby due in a month or so. I’ve decided to take Wednesdays off and be home with my son. I still work while he’s napping and occasionally while he’s awake, but being at home with him on one week day is awesome!

Family comes first, but you’ve got to make a living as well. It’s all about finding the balance between real estate and family, and what works best for you. As we all know, this business can create long work weeks. But if you set standards, and keep to them for the most part you can still have plenty of time with your family.
