I have a Mac, and I’ve lived in the Unix world for 25 years, but I have no idea what it is you’re recommending, Chris. Could be I’m stupid. Could be you’re being opaque.

We’re making Yahoo.Com, CNN.Com, etc, attempt to resolve locally.

And that means they don’t resolve at all.

Which means that you don’t see them.

Which means that you’re better off.

I took my rescue time file and looked at every newsy/sportsy site that I spent time on and ditched this.

Couldn’t you just not click on those sites?

I’m still confused. Chris can you explain a little slower?

      Guys-

Yeah, you can not click, but if time is the precious commodity, not having them available, and not having them around, and increasing the quality of your filter is a big help.

I’ve done loads of little things to get better, and they all add up, from deleting bad programs.

Getting rid of news/sports sites has had an instant impact. I have less time in front of the screen and it’s of higher quality.

A lot is made here of the value of writing down goals…the tangible presence makes them more likely to be achieved, at least in theory.

Is this not the reverse? “Out of sight, out of mind;” that sort of thing. Is that it, Chris? Just taking a guess, since on dialup there’s no video or fancy graphics for me.

If that’s it, I’d say it makes more sense than the comments would indicate. Seems to me that anything that increases production, if production is a value, is a good thing. “I have less time in front of the screen and it’s of higher quality.” It’s a winner then, and that’s that.
