There’s always something to howl about

Who’s the greatest real estate agent in the world? That’s a title I’m willing to compete for. But the winner of the “Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World” SEO contest is BloodhoundBlog’s Eric Blackwell

And BloodhoundBlog’s Eric Bramlett breaks the news:

Drumroll please……

Team Eric!

Eric Blackwell and his merry band of SEO’s/bloggers truly proved the spirit of SEO – it’s all about the relationships.  Jennifer Karlan, Greg Swann, Ken Smith, Wayne Long, Judy Orr, Cal Carter, Mike Damman, Charles & Jacqueline Richey, and Matt Scoggins all need to take a collective bow.  Through the use of teamwork and some very strategic use of assets they individually & collectively own, they were able to control #1 from the second month of the contest to the finish line.

There was a LOT of stiff competition here.  Ardell DellaLoggia ran it tight all the way to the finish line.  Greg Boser was in it, and then disappeared off the map w/ a few weeks to go — everyone was anxiously waiting for the SEO Dark Lord to pop his head back in at 11:59 on April 30th.  The guys at finished #5, w/ Mike Damman’s site, Ryan Ward, Justin from hismove (ranking well, though he dropped out early,) and then Jay Thompson rounding out the top 10.  Wouldn’t you know it?  My post ended up at the top of page 2 – the story of my life.

I’d like to thank everyone for participating, and especially thank Morgan Carey of Real Estate Webmasters for sponsoring the event.  Team Eric has decided to auction off the prize & donate the money to the Eco Preservation Society of Costa Rica (a favorite of Mike Damman’s.)

Eric Blackwell told you he was going to win. I told you Eric was going to win. But the truth is, Eric won because he assembled a great team of very smart people who were shooting Google juice his way until the very last minute.

Take a moment, if you would, to leave a comment to Eric’s winning post. This is a remarkable achievement, and we all got to be a part of it.

Bravo, Eric! And remember: Nice guys link back! ;)

And the fun has just begun… so I wonder who’s going to get the prize now?

Greg, do you know if they posted any info on how the auction is going to work yet?

No, but I was the big dumb guy on the team they brought along to move the sofa, I promise. I’m sure Eric or Eric will have news shortly.

“No, but I was the big dumb guy on the team they brought along to move the sofa”

Greg brings a lot more to the party than that. :) We all had a lot of fun together and Eric Blackwell deserves big Kudos for assembling this group and keeping them on track and working together.

Eric is one of those rare individuals with great skills and the ability to communicate as well.

I think all of us are much better for being part of “Team Eric”.

First off, thanks Greg. (and thanks for being a part of the team). Nice guys DO link back to trusted partners (a little jab in there at Trulia-see Galen’s recent post–great job Galen) and I do and will.

@Morgan-Like everything on Team Eric–we are making that decision as a collaboration. For inlookers, Morgan is the creative mind behind RealEstateWebmasters (a great team of real estate website developers in their own right- I consider them the best), who offered the prize for the winner. I appreciate your generosity. Someone is gonna get a GREAT website and IDX!

My parting thought for the contest other than a ton of thank you’s…

Even when links should not be reciprocal, true friendships always are…

When I put the link to BHB Unchained on my posts or site, or when I put on my blogroll a link on EriconSearch to Real Estate Webmasters and Morgan Carey. That is because they are true friends of mine. That is as it should be. They have never asked me to do that. They have simply been who they are (as have I.)

Thanks to everyone who helped and gave us a little link love along the way!

One more thank you…for Eric Bramlett. Awesome idea. Well executed! (No more creative ideas for at least a day or so, bro–I need some sleep! grin). Actually–you can send me creative ideas whenever you want!

Seriously, thanks for the effort that you put into the contest. Much appreciated.

And the beat goes on – Congrats Eric. Yes, it is all about relationships, and hard work does pay off!

The competition was certainly a fun one to participate in (and to observe). I certainly learned a lot, and made some great new friends along the way (yes, even some of you “competitors”). Big props go to everyone that competed. Team Eric is discussing how to best donate the prize to the charity currently. I’m sure we’ll let everyone know once we come to a decision regarding it.
