Welcome to BloodhoundBlog, the national real estate industry marketing and technology weblog written by, for and about real estate professionals. Better yet, welcome to the wired world of real estate. We are busily inventing Real Estate 2.0 — technology, marketing, service and salesmanship. Like all Bloodhounds, we are smart, frisky and fiercely independent. We've built a spot on the earth — beloved over all — where each one of us can be who we are, no matter who that might be. We are committed to an idea of excellence that will flush the bums, the con-men and the crybabies out of the real estate industry. If you yearn to have your failures excused, your moral lapses absolved or your boo-boos kissed, seek elsewhere. But if you are sick to death of mediocrity — welcome home. Read all about us, subscribe to our feed and steel yourself for the hunt. We work hard, we play hard, we learn everything we can — and we bow to no one.
Further notice: Being helpful and being nice and being sickeningly sweet are topics for pre-schoolers. BloodhoundBlog is a forum for grown-ups. Get used to it.

Select, Don't Settle...
Buy and rehab the home you want with one low-down-payment 203k Loan.
Our listings sell faster and for more money than homes listed by other Realtors. Why? Because we market our homes. We use the time-tested strategies used to sell cars, vacations, jewelry and cosmetics to make our houses irresistible to buyers. Want to know more about how we can help you get the best possible results for your home? Call Cathleen Collins at 602-369-9275 to set up a listing appointment.
You don’t need for your home to be LISTED for sale. You need it SOLD!
Click through to discover the marketing tools, tactics and techniques we deploy to sell our homes – strategies none of our competitors use. Our results? Our listings sell at the top tier of prices among comparable homes. Days on market? An average of 43. Our quickest sale was 3 days, our longest 65 days. This is the toughest market for sellers since the Great Depression, but we can’t hang onto a listing. Click here to find out why.

Everything’s new again! This home has been restored to builder-new condition: Newer paint, newer carpet and tile, all new appliances — range, microwave and refrigerator — new countertops, new ceiling fans, new window treatments. The property is a short walk or bike ride to Collier Elementary School, with no busy streets to cross. Easy access to shopping and to the I-10 Freeway. If you’re looking for a pristine, squeaky-clean rental home, make your move. This opportunity won’t last long.

[...] Housing should be, except in rare instances, a three to five year decision. We have lost sight of that over the past several years. The media has played a very large part of that, but so have the buyers and sellers. Let’s take a breath, step back a bit, read the apocalyptical and rosy projections and determine that reality is probably somewhere in between. [...]
Amen, brother Jim.
Extreme positions, be they negative or positive, have little to do with the reality of the marketplace.
Given enough time, everything eventually returns to the median.
Then, with a little more time, we resume a reasonable trajectory of growth.
It seems that many have forgotten that you buy a home to LIVE in; not to be used as your personal ATM.
From signonsandiego:
“While recent signs have led some economists to speculate that the worst of the housing slump has passed, many are taking a wait-and-see approach, including those at the Realtors association.”
“‘Maybe we’ve hit bottom,’ said David Lereah, chief economist of the Realtors association. ‘I’ll need another month before I can get comfortable with that statement.’”
Go ahead and dismiss it, but that is patently revisionist history. Lereah is on record at least 2 previous times saying that “the worst is already behind us”.
Joe:
I’m not so certain that stating that “the worst is behind us” is necessarily calling a bottom. It’s simply stating that the “worst” is behind us.
Hey hey hey! Did EVERYONE miss the point? It was a JOKE!
On a serious note, I want to move to wherever that gal is the news anchor.
Hey hey hey! Did EVERYONE miss the point? It was a JOKE!
Russell, congratulations, you accidentally provoked an actual discussion, not just more Borg-minded applause and head nodding.
Given enough time, everything eventually returns to the median.
Absolutely.
It’s amazing how many people whose financial future depends on understanding fundamental, undeniable, economic concepts like reversion to mean, either don’t know it or thought that this bubble would be different.
Go ahead and dismiss it, but that is patently revisionist history. Lereah is on record at least 2 previous times saying that “the worst is already behind us”.
Don’t expect this group to acknowledge Lereah as dishonest in any way, shape or form.
They don’t seem to realize that every time Mr. Lereah gets on TV or in the press and tells yet another whopper, as the the spokesman for the NAR, when’s he’s disingenuous, it reflects badly on all realtors.
Brian:
I’m not so certain that stating that “the worst is behind us” is necessarily calling a bottom. It’s simply stating that the “worst” is behind us.
Uh, wouldn’t not being at the bottom imply that things are going to get worse?
Lehreah said something? What did he say? Did I miss it? Was I suppose to buy something? Is the sale over? WHATS HAPPENING!!!!!!
