Master Suite Sitting Room This room is the nexus of the entire Master Suite restoration. When this home was built in 1931, this would have been the Summer Porch – the sleeping quarters to be used when the heat of the Arizona Summer was at its most-brutal extreme. It's hard for us to believe now, lving in the epoch of central air-conditioning, but the original owners of this house would have slept here on hot Summer nights, with the screened windows cranked wide open. They may have soaked a sheet in water to form a crude evaporative cooler. It's possible that they put the legs of their cots into coffee cans filled with water to discourage scorpions from creeping in to join them. These were hardy, practical people! At some later point, this room was converted to a bedroom. The current owners restored it to its original form, giving it new life as a Sitting Room connecting the Master Bedroom to the Master Suite Dressing Room.
