Did you ever wonder what would happen if the Hubble Telescope turned it’s lens on us? Would we be able to see the slop in our own backyard, or would our cowardice distort the view so much we’d believe that what we are seeing are simply truffles?
This article scared the crap out of me. Or, put another way, I don’t want to be eaten….and certainly not piece by piece.
What a terrific read… sort of. Like reading a narrative by one of your favorite authors that describes an assault on your sister. Terrific syntax… horrific subject matter.
The quotes by O’Neill and Geithner (and others) follow the most basic play in the political playbook: If we repeat an absolute lie long enough, maybe people will eventually stop questioning it.
On a completely unrelated subject: 2+2=5, 2+2=5, 2+2=5, 2+2=5, repeat after me…

In addition to borrowing from foreign governments to fund the world’s wealthiest poor they also subsidize the losses of the world’s wealthiest rich in the form of bank bailouts, TARP, no-bid gov’t contracts, unlimited money to defense contractors, etc.
I can already hear the calls for greater deregulation of the financial sector and another round of tax cuts, that will surely drive foreign borrowing down!
