{"id":10034,"date":"2009-10-12T04:18:17","date_gmt":"2009-10-12T11:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=10034"},"modified":"2009-10-12T04:18:17","modified_gmt":"2009-10-12T11:18:17","slug":"digital-access-pass-a-membership-sitecrm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/10034\/digital-access-pass-a-membership-sitecrm\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Access Pass: A Membership Site\/CRM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have&#8211;as a lot of people know&#8211;been searching high and low for a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=9110\"> workable CRM for my business. <\/a> I miss desperately the easy fun that was ACT 6.0, and hated every version after that.<\/p>\n<p>I tried Highrise, but it lacked &#8220;activity serieses&#8221; at the time, schedule once, do often.\u00a0\u00a0 I tried HEAP, and while it has suitable features, a great developer and a good ethos, the interface was not one I could think of.<\/p>\n<p>Infusionsoft was an utter rip-off.\u00a0 Staffed by the same types that brought Option Arms to all of the west with nonchalance, Infusionsoft was expensive, it has a bad interface, and worst of all, you have to adopt to it.\u00a0 In 20 months of being self employed, Infusionsoft was the only thing that made me feel like somebody&#8217;s bitch.\u00a0 The sales staff lied about its capacity &#8220;out of the box,&#8221; and the <em>employees <\/em>that ran it wanted to teach me something about being an entreprenuer, condescendingly selling me coaching.<\/p>\n<p>Still, I think that the $700 I spent was worth it just to learn some slight of hand.\u00a0 The marketing was so good, so emotionally connecting that I believed, despite evidence to the contrary that they cared.\u00a0\u00a0 So, the lesson learned was hire a copywriter so good that you feel happy to have been ripped off, and hopeful despite evidence to the contrary.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been playing with a lot of membership site software.\u00a0 And, on Twitter, a tweet about WP-Wishlist got a clever guy following me, the developer of a piece of software called <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalaccesspass.com\">Digital Access Pass.<\/a> DAP is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> without its flaws.\u00a0 It&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> yet perfect.\u00a0\u00a0 But, the structure and the thought behind it is, and it&#8217;s going to power a large bit of my customer service for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<p>Dap sees things as &#8220;product&#8221; oriented.\u00a0 Each product has a group of files and emails that are sequentially released to the customer at an arbitrary interval.\u00a0 Day 1, email one, file one.\u00a0 Day 2, email 2, file two.\u00a0 Etc.<\/p>\n<p>I emailed <a href=\"http:\/\/ravisrants.com\/\">Ravi<\/a>, and suggested one feature: that the &#8220;emails&#8221; that go out can be sent to an arbitrary address, defined on each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/10034\/digital-access-pass-a-membership-sitecrm\/#more-10034\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have&#8211;as a lot of people know&#8211;been searching high and low for a workable CRM for my business.
