{"id":10089,"date":"2009-10-15T12:20:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-15T19:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=10089"},"modified":"2009-10-15T10:19:10","modified_gmt":"2009-10-15T17:19:10","slug":"why-i-write-on-straight-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/10089\/why-i-write-on-straight-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I write on the Bloodhound Blog\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>and on Zillow\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/mortgagesunzipped.com\" target=\"_blank\">Mortgages Unzipped Blog<\/a> and on the <a href=\"http:\/\/straighttalkaboutmortgages.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Straight Talk About Mortgages.<\/a> I was asked that question the other day and the answer I gave surprised the person who asked it.\u00a0\u00a0 I found that intriguing, so I thought I\u2019d share both the question and the answer.<\/p>\n<p>Why do I write on these blogs?\u00a0\u00a0 The person who asked it reads a lot of what I write on these blogs and other places, so they know that even though writing comes rather easy for me, I do spend a lot of time on it.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s my answer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I write on these blogs because the mortgage world can be terribly confusing and I want to try to help educate people, and that\u2019s true even in the best of times.<\/li>\n<li>I write on these blogs because sharing my understanding and knowledge of what\u2019s happening and what it means helps to elevate the professionalism and expertise of the mortgage and real estate professions.<\/li>\n<li>I write on these blogs because we are in horrendously confusing times and the full ramifications of what\u2019s happening won\u2019t be truly felt for decades.<\/li>\n<li>I write on these blogs because there are a lot of people who have experienced and are going through severe financial disruptions and need someone to help them understand what\u2019s going on.<\/li>\n<li>I write on these blogs because the economy is going through what I believe we\u2019ll see to be \u201cseismic shifts\u201d in consumers attitudes toward credit, saving, investments, banking, and real estate.\u00a0 I\u2019ve based my entire mortgage career on helping people manage their money wisely and making solid decisions and this is a logical extension of that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The person who asked the question was surprised at my response.\u00a0\u00a0 He said, \u201cI would have guessed that the reason you write on these is to write more loans!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Have I written more mortgages that I wouldn\u2019t have otherwise?\u00a0\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0\u00a0 Is that why I\u2019m doing it?\u00a0\u00a0 Nope.<\/p>\n<p>And that brings me to the main point of this post.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m working on something new.\u00a0\u00a0 Let me explain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are a lot more facets to people\u2019s financial condition than just mortgages.<\/li>\n<li>There\u2019s a lot of people who are struggling to understand what\u2019s happening <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/10089\/why-i-write-on-straight-talk\/#more-10089\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>and on Zillow\u2019s Mortgages Unzipped Blog and on the Straight Talk About Mortgages.
