{"id":12245,"date":"2010-06-12T23:02:39","date_gmt":"2010-06-13T06:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=12245"},"modified":"2010-06-12T23:02:41","modified_gmt":"2010-06-13T06:02:41","slug":"reasons-to-be-cheerful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/12245\/reasons-to-be-cheerful\/","title":{"rendered":"Reasons To Be Cheerful"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"view from my back yard.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/view-from-my-back-yard.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"view from my back yard.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" align=\"left\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For loads of reasons, I moved my family from what Greg once called the &#8220;t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;ved=0CBIQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bloodhoundrealty.com%2FBloodhoundBlog%2F%3Fpage_id%3D2&amp;ei=Y2QUTKG6NYGuNo2GwZkF&amp;usg=AFQjCNEggyUwB96hfgDsqL-3zulFgXdzXA&amp;sig2=s_l640Pfjo1RTbJPVPiaLQ\">iny town of Westerville, OH<\/a>,&#8221; to Gresham Oregon, a suburb of Portland. \u00a0I move into my rental house in a few days. \u00a0picture is what I see in my backyard.<\/p>\n<p>My front yard is pine trees, and past that is a pristine view of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mount_Hood\">Mount Hood.<\/a> I crossed the plain in my minivan with my wife and kids, over 3 days&#8211;followed by my first vacation in years, a week in Manzanita Beach.\u00a0We&#8217;ll do a 6 month stay in Gresham, and then figure out if Vancouver, WA is the mecca of tax avoidance that people say it is.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>I have been delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I go back to work feverishly on the Sabbath, working like a dog to help my clients get what they want (and paid for). \u00a0I am joyful about the task at hand, my lists are set.<\/p>\n<p>Many of you know (and I&#8217;ve never really <em>hidden <\/em>it).I have survived an ordeal, and I am happy because I&#8217;ve learned that I can&#8217;t be killed. \u00a0 I can&#8217;t be extinguished. \u00a0I can get better faster than the government can harm me. \u00a0I took their best blow. \u00a0Yes, it hurt. \u00a0But I got tougher. They will never harm me. \u00a0And when \u00a0they try again, my stuff is together and I&#8217;m ready, and it will be a mere inconvenience, a half day&#8217;s work and a check to some <a href=\"http:\/\/hodgen.com\">Tax Attorney.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lewrockwell.com\/orig\/black3.html\">Martha Stewart<\/a> before me, I had to maneuver in unpleasant ways. \u00a0I had to give plasma to keep the lights turned on 3 years ago. I wasn&#8217;t able to adorn my wife in the way that I&#8217;d like. \u00a0 I joined the non prestigious Chapter 7 Society. \u00a0But I never broke, and I never said &#8220;do it to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Julia_%28Nineteen_Eighty-Four%29\">Julia<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m guessing I&#8217;m not the only one. \u00a0I&#8217;m guessing that other people are shaking off the blows right now, learning that we can produce the income sufficient to pay for an extra house over a three year period in &#8220;the worst economy ever.&#8221; \u00a0 Over 3 years, I paid what it would cost to buy a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/12245\/reasons-to-be-cheerful\/#more-12245\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For loads of reasons, I moved my family from what Greg once called the &#8220;tiny town of Westerville, OH,&#8221; to Gresham Oregon, a suburb of Portland. \u00a0I move into my rental house in a few days. \u00a0picture is what I see in my backyard.
