Here is yet another example of how the sharp noses of the Bloodhounds, caught a whiff of the stench, before the media did:<\/p>\n

Do you remember how Sean Purcell was confused with the mathematics behind the GM IPO<\/a>?<\/p>\n

You know, I seriously don\u2019t mind when others try to mislead me and I\u2019m not much offended when I get force fed a whole bunch of obfuscation from the government\u00a0,\u00a0but when you mess with the math you insult me on a much deeper level.\u00a0 (Note: I may hold math a little more\u00a0sacrosanct than most.\u00a0 I see in math\u00a0the core of philosophy, music and precision; I look at math and I see poetry.<\/em>)\u00a0\u00a0Listen, it\u2019s not like this is differential calculus; it\u2019s\u00a0basic multiplication and division.\u00a0 Don\u2019t stand there and tell me 2+2=5!\u00a0 As Mr. Brady is fond of saying: \u201cI am cursed<\/em> with the knowledge that\u00a0two plus two\u00a0does, in fact, equal four.\u201d<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know about anyone else, but I\u2019m not buying shares in a company run by people who think they\u2019re so smart\u00a0math doesn\u2019t apply to them.\u00a0\u00a0In the end, the math of the free market does apply, and it is\u00a0always<\/em> right.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, Patrice Hill from the Washington Times<\/em> had a problem with the math as well<\/a>.\u00a0 She was more conclusive than our Mr. Purcell.\u00a0 Ms Hill called the prestidigitation what it was; a payoff:<\/p>\n

Thanks to a generous share of GM stock obtained in the company’s 2009 bankruptcy settlement, the United Auto Workers is well on its way to recouping the billions of dollars GM owed it \u2014 putting it far ahead of taxpayers who have recouped only about 30 percent of their investment and further still ahead of investors in the old GM who have received nothing.<\/p>\n

The boon for the union fits the pattern established when the White House pushed GM into bankruptcy and steered it through the courts in a way that consistently put the interests of the union ahead of many suppliers, dealers and investors \u2014 stakeholders that ordinarily would have fared as well or better under the bankruptcy laws.<\/p>\n
