{"id":15792,"date":"2012-03-26T21:06:32","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T04:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=15792"},"modified":"2012-03-26T21:39:18","modified_gmt":"2012-03-27T04:39:18","slug":"where-is-he-wrong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/15792\/where-is-he-wrong\/","title":{"rendered":"Where Is He Wrong?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This was in the San Diego Union Tribune, and references an occurrence at a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utsandiego.com\/news\/2012\/mar\/25\/tp-strategic-default-time-share-scam-hot-topics\/\">local real estate meeting here last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Wednesday: Jim Abbott, owner of a San Diego real estate brokerage, backed out from appearing on a real estate event\u2019s panel after he was told to refrain from speaking negatively about real estate search sites including Zillow.<\/p>\n<p>Zillow reserved a table at Thursday\u2019s 2012 Real Estate Success Event, held at downtown\u2019s San Diego Convention Center. Abbott is against third-party housing websites because he says they are inaccurate, misleading and take business from listing agents. Leaders from such sites say their platforms are popular with consumers because they\u2019re easy to use and offer lots of information.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here&#8217;s Jim Abbott&#8217;s video explaining why Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com are&#8230;well, worthy of having something bad said about them.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"244\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P4pZ0zJdfAY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Where is he wrong? If Zillow, Trulia or Realtor.com really believe he&#8217;s off the rail, then why an effort to keep him down. Seems like a nice enough fellow. Not caustic. Simply telling a story. \u00a0Oh, and I know this isn&#8217;t &#8220;just in&#8221; news. \u00a0It&#8217;s simply news that I believe we as Realtors, actual fiduciaries to our clients, have a duty to take a stand on.<\/p>\n<p>I, for one, think Mr. Jim Abbott is on point, articulate and taking us to an important question all of us should ponder and stand on as well.<\/p>\n<p>Where am I wrong?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was in the San Diego Union Tribune, and references an occurrence at a local real estate meeting here last week.
