In celebration of The Incumbent&#8217;s jump into the big game, where it has no one but itself to blame for its consistently abysmal &#8220;investment&#8221; results, here is a very sparse but very fun musical category:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pop acts telling their record companies to go to hell.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First is Graham Parker, whose career was essentially ruined by \u201cMercury Poisoning.\u201d Out of all the New Wave rockers, he&#8217;s the rockingest, and he should have been a stadium act in those first few years.<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OZWgadswjmk?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>Next up is Cracker, and this is definitely not safe for anywhere:<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nY6WTcJMgMY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>Listen carefully.
