Alternative to the National Association of Realtors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There has been a lot of talk about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=1873\">how to fix the National Association of Realtors<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=1869\">even how to supplant the organization completely<\/a>.\u00a0 As an outsider looking in, I have one simply question:\u00a0 Why are realtors paying good money to an organization that they hate?\u00a0 As an investor I cannot not think of a more egregious instance of throwing good money after bad money.\u00a0 I have said more than my fair share of bad things about the NAR and realtors, so I think it is my turn to be solution-oriented.<\/p>\n<p>My solution is simple, instead of working from the bottom up, start top down.\u00a0 If the best realtors\/agents formed their own group, they would instantly dominate whatever market they chose.\u00a0 Imagine, if you will, that the NAR was made up of only the top 10% of agents in the country.\u00a0 These agents have a proven sales track record, impeccable ethics, and strong client feedback.\u00a0 Additionally, the MLS is one of many marketing vehicles they understand and use regularly.\u00a0 Simply guessing, this group would probably have quicker close rates, achieve better prices for their clients, and have a much better pulse of the direction of the market.<\/p>\n<p>Such a simple idea must have many flaws, so I will start naming a few obvious ones and propose solutions that would seem to work.\u00a0 Remember, I am on the outside looking in, so feel free to comment if these are way off.\u00a0 First, the most obvious problem is the MLS access issue.\u00a0 I think this problem actually solves itself.\u00a0 Consider how large the listing database would be if the top 10% of the real estate community decided to leave the MLS and start their own listing service.\u00a0 Additionally, many areas now have a public MLS or many other listing services in addition to the current NAR controlled MLS.\u00a0 Finally, imagine the hit the MLS would take if the top 10% of the real estate community chose to stop listing with them?\u00a0 That might open some eyes at the top.<\/p>\n<p>Second, how do you get the top 10% of the real estate community to come to this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/1880\/the-very-best-alternative-to-the-national-association-of-realtors\/#more-1880\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There has been a lot of talk about how to fix the National Association of Realtors or even how to supplant the organization completely.\u00a0 As an outsider looking in, I have one simply question:\u00a0 Why are realtors paying good money to an organization that they hate?\u00a0 As an investor I cannot not think of a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":16,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_crdt_document":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6,5,30],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-1880","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"hentry","6":"category-marketing","7":"category-real-estate","8":"category-supplanting-the-nar","10":"no-featured-image"},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":2790,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/2790\/rate-your-realtor%c2%ae-why-are-agents-scared-anyway\/","url_meta":{"origin":1880,"position":0},"title":"Rate Your REALTOR\u00ae &#8211;
