Pardon my gushing: I\u00a0adore the Bloodhounds. It’s a honor, and yeah still a shock, to see my goofy real estate picture on the contributor’s panel, but\u00a0I\u00a0sometimes wonder what unique thing I can bring to the Bloodhound table. I’m not a top<\/a> producer, I\u2019m not the world\u2019s most opinionated<\/a> blogger<\/a>, I\u2019m not a big thinker<\/a>, I\u2019m not the funny<\/a> Bloodhound<\/a>, or an expert<\/a> in my field<\/a>, and I\u2019m not Grumpy<\/a>, although I have shown signs of being\u00a0Dopey<\/a>. Alas,\u00a0I\u2019m past the age of being either cute<\/a>\u00a0or perky<\/a>, I\u2019m not a geek<\/a>, or even\u00a0a new<\/a> guy<\/a>. But none of this matters anyway, as I do despise labels.<\/p>\n

What do I bring to this table?\u00a0Since there is a bit of anarchy here, I could bring whatever I want to the table,\u00a0but in the end I’m gonna\u00a0shake what my mama gave me and dance with them what brung me. Today I’m bringing\u00a0hyperlocal blogging.<\/p>\n

Somewhere someone is reading this who\u00a0is a\u00a0new-ish Realtor, learning the business, and learning blogging, and working in a bit of a broken down market. Am I the\u00a0only real estate agent in this situation? Hardly, although I\u00a0am the only Bloodhound in this situation. Am I speaking of you? You\u00a0are working to set yourself apart, to improve your odds of lasting in this business, and wondering how to work it in your market? This post\u00a0is for you.<\/p>\n

Greg’s advice for local RE weblogging has always been to remember the people\u00a0we write for, who are not neccessarily the people who comment, and certainly not the other Realtors who show up on MyBlogLog widgets. He also advised me\u00a0to find local bloggers and link early and link often. All this advice is beginning to pay off for me, and in the Bloodhound spirit of sharing, I’m here to encourage the other hyperlocal bloggers to stick to your\u00a0Be-the-Community guns.<\/p>\n

In my neck\u00a0of the woods, few people know what a blog is, nor do they care, and that disturbed me at first as I had some niggling thoughts about\u00a0using a blog in Dayton\u00a0to generate leads.
