{"id":2148,"date":"2007-11-01T13:48:02","date_gmt":"2007-11-01T20:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=2148"},"modified":"2007-11-01T13:49:06","modified_gmt":"2007-11-01T20:49:06","slug":"pmar-oar-nar-david-barry-and-the-essential-elements-of-non-reform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/2148\/pmar-oar-nar-david-barry-and-the-essential-elements-of-non-reform\/","title":{"rendered":"PMAR, OAR, NAR, David Barry and the Essential Elements of non-Reform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The confluence of events:<\/p>\n<p>Last week I received a lead from our lead generation system.\u00a0 I had only a name and email address: \u00a0she wanted info on three listings, then two more, then the next day seven more, each emailed separately.\u00a0 There was no contact number, only her email address, and it turned out she wasn\u2019t really in the market to buy, just curious.\u00a0 And: all she wanted were the addresses, was more than a little annoyed \u2013 so was I \u2013 she had to jump through hoops to get them.\u00a0 Damned REALTORS\u00ae!<\/p>\n<p>Monday I was in a meeting to introduce our new company web site, including a new property search engine.\u00a0 The mock up included maps, street view and\u2026 <em>addresses!<\/em>\u00a0 Transparency; terrific!\u00a0 But, no, sorry, that\u2019s not a real fixture.\u00a0 Apparently that\u2019s against the bylaws of one of the five MLSs we deal with; \u201cBesides, we want to give a reason for the phone to ring!\u201d\u00a0 See above.<\/p>\n<p>Then last night &#8211; after fifty plus sugared up munchkins &#8211; I opened my annual Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors bill, which includes dues for PMAR, OAR, and NAR. Last year it was $343, and this year: $459.
