You Know I Had To Say Something…<\/strong><\/p>\n

To read me is to know me\u00a0and if you’ve read me before then you already know<\/em> that I am no economist. Far from it.\u00a0 I can\u00a0reduce by 10% and multiply by 5%–the two basic math skills needed to be a realtor in Chicago–but anything much beyond that, I start spelling out the numbers instead. If I had to rely soley on the mathematic\u00a0portion of my brain\u00a0to come up with D’enouement<\/em> in any given circumstance,\u00a0then I’d be\u00a0wandering the halls of Pi\u00a0purgatory, ad infinitum.<\/em> See, I just did it.<\/p>\n

Nor am I now, or have I ever been, a candidate for political office of any kind although one entry on Google<\/em> claims I was\u00a0once the Treasurer for a\u00a0Virginia chapter of the Knights of Columbus in 1993-94. (I will state for the record right here in a national forum that I don’t know what<\/em> happened to that Bingo money but hookers were definitely not<\/em> involved.) \u00a0In fact, according to Sister Mary Timothy from the old neighborhood, I ceased even being<\/em> a Catholic after I got caught smoking in the Girls<\/em> bathroom with Melanie Mortimer back in the 6th grade.\u00a0 My blanket response to both of these scenarios is this—-and I paraphrase G. Gordon Liddy from\u00a0his\u00a0Watergate days,\u00a0 “Much beyond that, Senator…at those particular\u00a0points in time,…to the best of my knowledge,….I don’t recall.”<\/p>\n

However, I am not completely without opinions.\u00a0 And if I should ever find myself in such a position, my iPhone<\/em>\u00a0is sure to ping me otherwise. Such was the case this past Monday as I\u00a0topped off\u00a0my Mini Cooper,<\/em> silently cursing any and\u00a0all things\u00a0OPEC, <\/em>and\u00a0wondering if\u00a0I should have bought an even smaller form of transport.\u00a0\u00a0The <\/em>MSNBC feed alerted me that a notable politician admitted to paying $1,000 per hour for the services of a jezebel.\u00a0 I just paid $39.79 for a tank of Premium, <\/em>\u00a0then quickly figured (with the help of my iCalculator,<\/em> of course)<\/em>\u00a0that alas…Super Premium<\/em> was a mere $960.21 more.\u00a0 As I read on, I imagined the following Govenor’s Mansion pillow talk later that evening in far, far away Albany:<\/p>\n
