{"id":2834,"date":"2008-03-28T08:45:52","date_gmt":"2008-03-28T15:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=2834"},"modified":"2009-06-10T12:54:02","modified_gmt":"2009-06-10T19:54:02","slug":"genos-wrong-bang-a-gong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/2834\/genos-wrong-bang-a-gong\/","title":{"rendered":"Geno&#8217;s Wrong (bang a gong)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve heard tell that\u00a0a baby\u2019s first\u00a0post-partum\u00a0sensation\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0visceral\u00a0experience of himself and his mother as One.\u00a0Thus, being\u00a0too new in Life\u00a0to yet separate\u00a0himself from the outside world,\u00a0little baby\u00a0Geno mentally concludes mommy and he are\u00a0the exact same entity. And when the light bulb finally does go off in the\u00a0infant&#8217;s bald little noggin a few months down the\u00a0lifeline and he realizes he&#8217;s been\u00a0maternally duped by Nature, the very first <em>&#8216;Separation Anxiety&#8217;<\/em> is\u00a0then experienced and all future disappointments in\u00a0his ensuing\u00a0 mortal journey\u00a0can be traced back to that very instant. That&#8217;s what\u00a0I&#8217;ve heard, anyway. Either that or I dreamt it in one of my other, more enlightened lives when I wasn&#8217;t so monetarily attached to my\u00a0livlihood.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also read somewhere\u00a0that when\u00a0one person moves to thumb down, and <em>snap<\/em> the mutual wishbone, ending a personal or business\u00a0relationship abruptly, that the mental decision was made long before the actual ax hit the proverbial turkey&#8217;s neck; that the severing party\u00a0<em>(axer<\/em>)\u00a0grieving period had already begun\u00a0long before fatal action was actually taken and thus, comes off as being\u00a0the more &#8216;heartless&#8217; of the separated duo. The turkey (<em>axee<\/em>), on the other hand, is cast immediately into a state of shock and is forced to run around &#8216;headless&#8217; and very quickly come to terms with\u00a0his own extremely short future as a team member in this world.\u00a0 Somewhere between these first\u00a0two paragraphs lies my point (allow me a few moments to dig it out as I simultaneously\u00a0fret over\u00a0a handful of my difficult Listings with a combined market time of almost 3 years) but I can tell you right now; headless, heartless, whatever&#8230;I&#8217;d rather be the <em>axer<\/em> than the <em>axee.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I thought about this\u00a0quite a bit\u00a0as I escaped the silent treatment market\u00a0torture in Chicago and flew home to visit with my 80 year old parents over Easter weekend. As I walked through their front door I was instantly greeted by a lifetime of childhood reminders, familiar\u00a0tastes and nearly forgotten episodes. I sat there for hours\u00a0keeping company with\u00a0the two people I&#8217;ve known longer than any two souls\u00a0on this earth, wondering where all the time went.
