{"id":2998,"date":"2008-04-21T08:44:33","date_gmt":"2008-04-21T15:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=2998"},"modified":"2008-04-21T09:01:42","modified_gmt":"2008-04-21T16:01:42","slug":"nobody-wants-to-watch-snl-reruns-on-turner-movie-classics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/2998\/nobody-wants-to-watch-snl-reruns-on-turner-movie-classics\/","title":{"rendered":"Nobody wants to watch SNL reruns on Turner Movie Classics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" width=\"130\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/nbc-logo.jpg\" alt=\"NBC, Bravo and CNBC are three networks for three different audiences\" height=\"130\" \/>There&#8217;s a reason why certain shows play on NBC versus CNBC versus Bravo.\u00a0 Different types of programming attracts different types of viewers.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 12 months ago, Bloodhound Blog has defined <em>its<\/em> programming and it&#8217;s now clear to me that the &#8220;viewers&#8221; are largely industry insiders that want to get a leg up on the competition.\u00a0 There are passers-by in the crowd, too, but for them, BHB is just another channel in the 300s to flip through between commercials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Real estate professionals tune into Bloodhound Blog programming the same way that sports fans do with ESPN and celebrity-watchers do with E!.\u00a0 And while the real estate pros are here, they&#8217;re treated to in-depth, throught-provoking programming that keeps them tuned in and coming back.<\/p>\n<p>This concept is important because many Bloodhound Blog viewers have their <em>own <\/em>blogs somewhere else on the Internet and can learn from the concept of &#8220;knowing your audience&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When you know your audience, you never run out of things to write and you never lose relevance.\u00a0 Your message is clear, consistent and constant &#8212; three goals in every good marketing campaign.\u00a0\u00a0Over time, your message actually begins to <em>define<\/em> your audience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You soon write to your <em>exact<\/em> target audience because that is who is reading your blog.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not a coincidence that people who like food watch the Food Network.<\/p>\n<p>Now, as a real estate professional, you get paid in one of three ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You sell a home<\/li>\n<li>You sell a desk<\/li>\n<li>You sell a system to sell homes or desks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you make your living selling desks to real estate agents and you blog, your blog programming should be written to attract your target audience of real estate agents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, if you make your living selling homes to people and you blog, your blog programming should be written with the consumer in mind.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/rachael-ray.jpg\" hspace=\"5\" alt=\"Rachael Ray knows her audience\" \/>Very few network mix-and-match their programming.\u00a0 Nobody wants to watch SNL reruns on Turner Movie Classics, after all.\u00a0 Heck, even HBO has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hbo.com\/\" title=\"HBO understands the importance of knowing your audience\">seven different channels<\/a>\u00a0for its movies.<\/p>\n<p>Some bloggers know this inherently, some learn it the hard way.\u00a0 Some never figure it out.\u00a0 But if you look around at the blogs that you love best, it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/2998\/nobody-wants-to-watch-snl-reruns-on-turner-movie-classics\/#more-2998\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a reason why certain shows play on NBC versus CNBC versus Bravo.\u00a0 Different types of programming attracts different types of viewers.
