I’m going to share a story with all of you first. Yes, it’s true, although I hate to admit it.<\/p>\n
A few years ago I decided that I needed a website.\u00a0 Not just a template website, but a website that was custom to me.\u00a0 Branded.\u00a0 One that I could call my own.\u00a0 So, I contacted a company that was referred to me by another agent and started working with them.\u00a0 All I can say is CA-CHING!\u00a0 Lots of money.\u00a0 At the end of the design process the designer said “I really think you should sign up for our SEO package”.\u00a0 I’m thinking to myself, what the heck is SEO and why would I need it?\u00a0 I declined the service.\u00a0 I knew absolutely nothing about anything internet, just that I needed a website, right?\u00a0 I was ok with using these designers for everything.\u00a0 After all, I’m a Real Estate Agent not a web designer.\u00a0 It didn’t hit me until I started blogging what SEO was.\u00a0 I then went in to this almost livid state wondering why they didn’t explain it to me back then.\u00a0 What’s the point of designing a site if it is not optimized in the least?\u00a0 My AR blog showed up on Google in 2 days, surely it couldn’t be that hard.\u00a0 LOL.<\/p>\n
The popular question for PBII seems to be about platforms.\u00a0 Which platform should I choose?\u00a0 WordPress.org vs. WordPress.com, etc.\u00a0 This post is really just to put my opinion out and share a little of my experience so far with my fellow litter mates that may still be deciding.<\/p>\n
I have mentioned that a year ago I started my Blog on a GoDaddy Quickblog.\u00a0 It was easy, showed up well in Google, that is what I wanted.\u00a0 At the time, I felt that I did not know enough of the techie guru type anything to do WordPress.\u00a0 Today, I’m wishing that I could have found some more confidence on that topic.\u00a0 It has been much easier than expected to set up a WordPress.org site.\u00a0 (Must note here the Queen of Kludge<\/a> and DaBlogMother<\/a> has helped out tremendously.\u00a0 Along with Greg, Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I’m going to share a story with all of you first.
