{"id":3535,"date":"2008-07-28T07:00:41","date_gmt":"2008-07-28T14:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=3535"},"modified":"2008-08-03T06:33:16","modified_gmt":"2008-08-03T13:33:16","slug":"the-new-real-estate-model-part-1-disbrokeration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/3535\/the-new-real-estate-model-part-1-disbrokeration\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Real Estate Model &#8211; Part 1: Disbrokeration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Real Estate industry is going through some pretty rapid changes lately.<span> <\/span>We have everything from Apple\u2019s iPhone to Zillow\u2019s Zestimates.<span> <\/span>There is a lot of conflict too.<span> <\/span>Your local Board of Realtors is most likely still trying to throw a fence around listing information, while a wired world questions the nature and even <em>purpose<\/em> of a real estate agent.<span> <\/span>The RE.net is creating opportunities and shifting the nature of the game.<span> <\/span>The world is 2.0 and it communicates differently.<span> <\/span>A 2.0 world markets differently and rewards differently too.<span> <\/span>Throw in the most destructive credit crunch since the Great Depression and you have a recipe for\u2026 WHAT?<span> <\/span>Only one sure answer: change.<span> <\/span>But the question is this:<span> <\/span>change into what?<span> <\/span>What does the future of the real estate <em>industry<\/em> look like?<span> <\/span>Will there be agents?<span> <\/span>Will there be brokers?<span> <\/span>Will there be a real estate industry?<span> <\/span>This is the first of a three-part series that will attempt to answer some of these questions.<\/p>\n<p>Back in March I wrote a post on <a href=\"http:\/\/mysteryhouseblog.com\/2008\/03\/08\/how-do-you-find-real-estate-success-in-disbrokeration\/\">Disbrokeration<\/a> and the coming changes in the real estate industry.<span> <\/span>I suggested that Brokers, more than agents, were going to see their positions and their livelihood challenged.<span> <\/span>I still believe that to be true.<span> <\/span>In part two of this series I will run through the first evolution I saw for our industry: The Super Team.<span> <\/span>Not an uncommon idea, the Super Team already exists and the refinement of it is discussed in many areas.<span> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bonzai.squarespace.com\/\">Mike Farmer<\/a> has written about it in great fashion.<span> <\/span>I will discuss why it may work for some, but in general it simply does not solve enough problems.<span> <\/span>Worse yet, it adds new ones.<span> <\/span>In the final installment, part three, I suggest a new model for the real estate industry.<span> <\/span>A model that is easily copied, well developed and most suited to solving the issues in our industry.<span> <\/span>But first, we must understand why the current model will not last.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disbrokeration: The End of the Current Model<\/strong><br \/>\nThe existing Broker model is actually a pretty old one, found in almost any industry that is focused around the act or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/3535\/the-new-real-estate-model-part-1-disbrokeration\/#more-3535\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes The Real Estate industry is going through some pretty rapid changes lately.
