{"id":3689,"date":"2008-08-04T12:00:15","date_gmt":"2008-08-04T19:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=3689"},"modified":"2008-08-04T11:20:36","modified_gmt":"2008-08-04T18:20:36","slug":"the-new-real-estate-model-part-3-patrick-dunne-purcell-a-real-estate-firm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/3689\/the-new-real-estate-model-part-3-patrick-dunne-purcell-a-real-estate-firm\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Real Estate Model &#8211; Part 3.2: Patrick, Dunne &amp; Purcell, A Real Estate Firm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Real Estate Firm based on the legal model could have many looks, as do actual law firms.\u00a0 But for a starting point I am going to lay out an achievable structure that will accommodate the greatest majority of agents.\u00a0 The firm would consist of three distinct levels as well as an administrative staff.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the top level are the named agents: let&#8217;s say Ms. Patrick, Mr. Dunne and Mr. Purcell. These are the founders of the firm and generally speaking they are all three tremendous rain makers. They have a large and active client base from which they receive a tremendous amount of referral business.\u00a0 It is also quite likely that one or more of them has a strong presence in a niche area.\u00a0 They are not only the face of the firm, but it is their style and personality that colors the firm&#8217;s corporate vision.<\/li>\n<li>Under the named agents are the partner agents.\u00a0 It is within this level that we see so much of the communal benefit that <a title=\"Mike Farmer on Super Teams\" href=\"http:\/\/bonzai.squarespace.com\/blog\/2008\/5\/31\/real-estate-team-20-a-team-of-rainmakers-with-one-coach.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Farmer has written about<\/a>.\u00a0 Similar to the named agents, partner agents bring in a lot of transactions.\u00a0 They also may have areas (geographic, industrial, network, etc.) of specialty.\u00a0 These agents have reached a level reminiscent of <a title=\"Tenure\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tenure\" target=\"_blank\">tenure<\/a>.\u00a0 They share ownership of the firm as well as decision making duties and have a say in its direction.<\/li>\n<li>The associate level is where the greatest number of agents are found.\u00a0 From fresh beginners to agents with years of experience.\u00a0 The associate level is also the workhorse of the firm.\u00a0 Associate agents are not only working hard to take care of clients assigned by the partners, but are at the same time trying to impress the partners with business they generate themselves.\u00a0 The presumed goal of an associate agent is to be made partner.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, there is an administrative staff which grows as the firm&#8217;s growth dictates.\u00a0 It could be as simple as one administrator or as complex as a multiple level staff covering everything from answering the phones to creating the marketing to processing the transactions and more.\u00a0 Staffing might be the one place where someone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/3689\/the-new-real-estate-model-part-3-patrick-dunne-purcell-a-real-estate-firm\/#more-3689\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Real Estate Firm based on the legal model could have many looks, as do actual law firms.\u00a0 But for a starting point I am going to lay out an achievable structure that will accommodate the greatest majority of agents.\u00a0 The firm would consist of three distinct levels as well as an administrative staff.
