{"id":4606,"date":"2008-09-23T14:26:49","date_gmt":"2008-09-23T21:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4606"},"modified":"2008-09-23T14:29:33","modified_gmt":"2008-09-23T21:29:33","slug":"federal-bailouts-world-crisis-what-about-little-ol-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/4606\/federal-bailouts-world-crisis-what-about-little-ol-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Bailouts, World Crisis&#8230; What About Little Ol&#8217; Me?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of talking heads.\u00a0 Lots of outrage.\u00a0 Even a little fear.\u00a0 Keeping up with economic developments lately is taxing and I mean taxing in its most negative &#8220;IRS and April 15th&#8221; connotation.\u00a0 Last night <a title=\"Bloodhound Radio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4582\" target=\"_blank\">Brian Brady and I were interviewing Matt Padilla for Bloodhound Radio<\/a>.\u00a0 It was a great discussion and got me to thinking about what is (or rather should be) important.\u00a0 I mean, the whole thing can be overwhelming: how did we get here, who&#8217;s to blame, what are the macro ramifications of this massive federal bail-out&#8230; makes one feel small and even a little lonely in the midst of this big economic world gone &#8217;round the bend.<\/p>\n<p>So I stopped on the way home for a big shot of wheat grass (substitute whatever manly libation you prefer here), calmed down and eventually found myself a little less interested in <em>what it all means<\/em> and a little more interested in <em>what it all means <strong>to the real estate agent on the street<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 In other words: What is the next step?<\/p>\n<p>Last week <a title=\"How Wall Street's Meltdown Helps Main Street's Housing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4520\" target=\"_blank\">I suggested that Wall Street&#8217;s Meltdown may actually <em>help<\/em> the housing industry<\/a>.\u00a0 Consumer debt will dry up in the credit crunch and this bail-out will not have much impact in that arena.\u00a0 The financial industry is going to come out limping and take some time to lick its wounds.\u00a0 Consumer debt has always been a risk and will end up on the back burner for a while, but the need for profits is always there; where will it come from?\u00a0 Where is the supply of money going to be greatest?\u00a0 Thanks to Uncle Sam it is going to be mortgage money that flows freely.\u00a0 But flowing freely is not the same as distributed evenly and this is where the real potential lies for homeowners as well as real estate agents.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the year conforming loan limits are going to drop.\u00a0 Here in San Diego they should end up around $625,000.\u00a0 Under that limit there is going to be a large supply of federally backed (and encouraged) cheap money.\u00a0 Over that limit, however, it is going to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/4606\/federal-bailouts-world-crisis-what-about-little-ol-me\/#more-4606\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of talking heads.\u00a0 Lots of outrage.\u00a0 Even a little fear.\u00a0 Keeping up with economic developments lately is taxing and I mean taxing in its most negative &#8220;IRS and April 15th&#8221; connotation.\u00a0 Last night Brian Brady and I were interviewing Matt Padilla for Bloodhound Radio.\u00a0 It was a great discussion and got me to thinking [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":36,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_crdt_document":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6,5],"tags":[234],"class_list":{"0":"post-4606","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"hentry","6":"category-marketing","7":"category-real-estate","8":"tag-loan-limits","10":"no-featured-image"},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":5564,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/5564\/think-your-taxes-are-going-down-think-again\/","url_meta":{"origin":4606,"position":0},"title":"Think Your Taxes Are Going Down?
