This is from his article &#8220;10 Stupid Mistakes Made by the Newly Self-Employed&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1. Selling to the wrong people.<br \/>\n2. Spending too much money.<br \/>\n3. Spending too little money.<br \/>\n4. Putting on a fake front.<br \/>\n5. Assuming a signed contract will be honored.<br \/>\n6. Going against your intuition.<br \/>\n7. Being too formal.<br \/>\n8. Sacrificing your personality quirks.<br \/>\n9. Failing to focus on value creation.<br \/>\n10. Failing to optimize.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One point I might add is learning to master your own time. The only benefit I can think of to having a job is that there&#8217;s always someone to tell you to get busy. Not so for the self-employed. If you don&#8217;t learn to monitor and manage the hours of your days, you&#8217;ll be back on the clock in no time.<\/p>\n<p>This is a very long article, and an outline-like summary does it little justice.
