{"id":4736,"date":"2008-09-30T15:17:19","date_gmt":"2008-09-30T22:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4736"},"modified":"2008-09-30T17:15:43","modified_gmt":"2008-10-01T00:15:43","slug":"no-one-to-root-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/4736\/no-one-to-root-for\/","title":{"rendered":"No One to Root For&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote yesterday that we were <a title=\"Front Seat to History\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4716\" target=\"_blank\">Front Seat to History<\/a>, but main stream press continues to miss it and I fear I was a little too cavalier in my writing.\u00a0 The real story here is not the initial failure of the bailout, but the in-your-face blatancy of our politicians.\u00a0 There is no longer even the veil of accountability or representation.\u00a0 I know this is a political philosophy question regarding representative government, but there has always been at least lip service paid to the idea of politicians keeping their finger on the pulse of their constituents.\u00a0 Senator McCain said &#8220;Americans are frightened&#8230;&#8221; and the Democratic leadership is returning to the bargaining table in hopes of enticing more politicians from both sides of the aisle to vote against the wishes of the very people who voted them into office.\u00a0 Today we had President Bush demand &#8220;Congress must act.&#8221;\u00a0 In most scenarios, if\u00a0 the White House disagrees with congress, the President takes it to the people and admonishes all of us to call, write or email our representatives and let them know how we feel.\u00a0 But in this case there is no call to action.\u00a0 Why is that?\u00a0 Obviously the majority of America does not agree with the bailout as it is presently understood, but there is more to it.\u00a0 Congress and our executive leaders are all of one mind: get this done despite what middle America thinks.\u00a0 This has two connotations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t bother representing your constituents &#8211; they are too stupid to understand.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t bother representing your constituents &#8211; they are not the ones who pay your bills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Either way I want to SCREAM OUT to everyone watching this.\u00a0 I want to say: Pay Attention!\u00a0 It is rare that an event of this magnitude happens close enough to an election that we witness the true motivation of those who run for office.\u00a0 If you feel a disconnect with your elected officials&#8230; is it any wonder?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wrote yesterday that we were Front Seat to History, but main stream press continues to miss it and I fear I was a little too cavalier in my writing.\u00a0 The real story here is not the initial failure of the bailout, but the in-your-face blatancy of our politicians.\u00a0 There is no longer even the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":36,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_crdt_document":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-4736","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"hentry","6":"category-egoism-in-action","8":"no-featured-image"},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":564,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/564\/want-to-stop-sprawl-stop-subsidizing-it\/","url_meta":{"origin":4736,"position":0},"title":"Want to stop sprawl?
