{"id":4822,"date":"2008-10-05T19:24:54","date_gmt":"2008-10-06T02:24:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=4822"},"modified":"2008-10-05T19:24:54","modified_gmt":"2008-10-06T02:24:54","slug":"please-come-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/4822\/please-come-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Please Come Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the clock on my dashboard it was 2:43pm &#8211; where had my day gone?\u00a0 &#8211; I couldn&#8217;t help but wonder.\u00a0 I had just wrapped up with my client who proudly unveiled the newly renovated rental units at the building he just purchased on Washington Park &#8211; the proposed location of the Olympic Stadium if and when Chicago should land the 2016 Summer Games &#8211; best described as an &#8220;up and coming&#8221; part of Chicago&#8217;s south side.\u00a0 He wanted me to see what he had done and wanted my assurance that he could get the units rented at a much higher rent than was usual for the area.\u00a0 From what I saw &#8211; he would have no problem renting the units &#8211; for how much?\u00a0 that was yet to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>I was hungry and I hadn&#8217;t had anything to eat &#8211; with the exception of the venti Red Eye I&#8217;d picked up earlier that morning during my walk with my dogs &#8211; breakfast.\u00a0 I had to be back on the north side of town for a 4:00pm appointment, so I knew I didn&#8217;t have time to eat &#8211; and there&#8217;s scarcely any place to eat nearby the building &#8211; or at least that&#8217;s what I thought.<\/p>\n<p>Okay forget about lunch &#8211; I&#8217;ll just pick up a diet Pepsi I figured &#8211; I can stop at the Shell station before I pull on to the Dan Ryan to head back north.\u00a0 As I began my journey, I turned onto one of the wide boulevards lined with overgrown empty lots and neglected buildings.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t paying attention to the street names &#8211; I was simply heading towards the freeway when I noticed a stand alone convenience store &#8211; a building at a nondescript corner at the fringe &#8211; on the &#8220;other side&#8221; of the up and coming neighborhood &#8211; not sure where the real boundary lay, but I had the distinct impression it wasn&#8217;t &#8220;up and coming&#8221; any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t help but notice the store &#8211; it was the only business operating in several blocks. \u00a0 I&#8217;m sure most could identify with seeing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/4822\/please-come-again\/#more-4822\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the clock on my dashboard it was 2:43pm &#8211; where had my day gone?\u00a0 &#8211; I couldn&#8217;t help but wonder.\u00a0 I had just wrapped up with my client who proudly unveiled the newly renovated rental units at the building he just purchased on Washington Park &#8211; the proposed location of the Olympic Stadium [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":47,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_crdt_document":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[532],"class_list":{"0":"post-4822","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"hentry","6":"category-real-estate","7":"tag-real-estate","9":"no-featured-image"},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":1553,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/1553\/status-quo-real-estate-investors-dont-make-real-money\/","url_meta":{"origin":4822,"position":0},"title":"Status Quo Real Estate Investors Don&#8217;t Make Real Money","author":"Cooksquared","date":"June 19, 2007","format":false,"excerpt":"I have never been a huge fan of the status quo.
