{"id":5121,"date":"2008-10-21T08:17:28","date_gmt":"2008-10-21T15:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=5121"},"modified":"2008-10-21T08:17:28","modified_gmt":"2008-10-21T15:17:28","slug":"the-gphone-is-hereand-here-are-my-thoughts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/5121\/the-gphone-is-hereand-here-are-my-thoughts\/","title":{"rendered":"The GPhone is Here&#8230;and Here are My Thoughts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was pleasantly surprised to come home from the grocery store last night and see a package from T-Mobile w\/ my new G1.\u00a0 My girlfriend wasn&#8217;t so pleasantly surprised b\/c it meant that I would for the most part ignore her for the evening while playing with my new toy.\u00a0 Here are my first impressions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you&#8217;re already a Google fanboy, you&#8217;ll love it.\u00a0 When you fire it up, it prompts you for your google ID, and you&#8217;re done.\u00a0 Your email, calendar, and contacts are all seemlessly integrated with the phone.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t have to lose your @mywebsite.com email address, either.\u00a0 Using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/a\">Google Apps<\/a>, you can allow big G to give you all their services for free, and retain your branding.<\/li>\n<li>The App Marketplace is REALLY thin right now, but there&#8217;s not an app on there that costs.\u00a0 I immediately installed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/\">Accuweather<\/a> (which I had on my BB,) and <a href=\"http:\/\/androidguys.com\/?p=2244\">Plusmo College Football<\/a> (which was already available for IPhone.)<\/li>\n<li>Coming from the BB, I like the trackball + touchscreen navigation.\u00a0 Very easy to maneuver websites with a lot of small nav buttons using the trackball, and very quick to navigate easier sites with the touchscreen.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m assuming b\/c they piggybacked off the 1-800-GOOG-411 technology, the voice dialer actually works REALLY well.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s no port for headphones, which is really annoying.<\/li>\n<li>Amazon MP3 is every bit as good as itunes.<\/li>\n<li>So if you rotate the g1 on its side the screen does NOT adapt.\u00a0 It&#8217;s very easy to navigate through w\/o using the keypad, so I think this was a pretty silly move.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if they can do a soft upgrade using the compass or something, but I hope they can.<\/li>\n<li>The messaging is not as consolidated as the BB.\u00a0 I really like getting my sms, mms, and emails all in the same viewer.\u00a0 There doesn&#8217;t appear to be an option for that here.<\/li>\n<li>The browser isn&#8217;t quite as nice as the Iphone&#8217;s.\u00a0 The Iphone browser does a good job of autosizing a site to fit the screen &#8211; android&#8217;s, not so much.\u00a0 However, it&#8217;s still the 2nd best phone browser I&#8217;ve used.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>So, all in all, I&#8217;m happy with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/5121\/the-gphone-is-hereand-here-are-my-thoughts\/#more-5121\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was pleasantly surprised to come home from the grocery store last night and see a package from T-Mobile w\/ my new G1.\u00a0 My girlfriend wasn&#8217;t so pleasantly surprised b\/c it meant that I would for the most part ignore her for the evening while playing with my new toy.\u00a0 Here are my first impressions: [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":29,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_crdt_document":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-5121","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"hentry","6":"category-real-estate","8":"no-featured-image"},"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":10681,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/10681\/real-estate-investing-for-retirement-2-schools-of-thought\/","url_meta":{"origin":5121,"position":0},"title":"Real Estate Investing For Retirement &#8211; 2 Schools of Thought","author":"Jeff Brown","date":"December 22, 2009","format":false,"excerpt":"There surely are more than just a couple schools of thought when it comes to using real estate as a vehicle to get them to an abundant retirement.
