Now in war we are confronted with conditions which are strange.
\nIf we accept them we will never win.
\nSince by being realistic, as in mundane combats fistic,
\nWe will get a bloody nose and that’s a sin.<\/p>\n

To avoid such fell disaster, the result of fighting faster,
\nWe resort to fighting carefully and slow.
\nWe fill up terrestrial spaces with secure expensive bases
\nTo keep our tax rate high and death rate low.<\/p>\n

But with sadness and with sorrow we discover to our horror
\nThat while we build, the enemy gets set.
\nSo despite our fine intentions to produce extensive pensions
\nWe haven’t licked the dirty bastard yet.<\/p>\n

For in war just as in loving, you must always keep on shoving
\nOr you’ll never get your just reward.
\nFor if you are dilatory in the search for lust and glory
\nYou are up sh*t creek and that’s the truth, Oh! Lord.<\/p>\n

So let us do real fighting, boring in and gouging, biting.
\nLet’s take a chance now that we have the ball.
\nLet’s forget those fine firm bases in the dreary shell raked spaces.
\nLet’s shoot the works and win! Yes, win it all!<\/p>\n
