{"id":5945,"date":"2008-12-04T20:17:52","date_gmt":"2008-12-05T03:17:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=5945"},"modified":"2008-12-07T10:47:18","modified_gmt":"2008-12-07T17:47:18","slug":"what-if-the-divine-was-merelymortal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/5945\/what-if-the-divine-was-merelymortal\/","title":{"rendered":"What\u00a0If The Divine Was Merely&#8230;Mortal?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I must admit that I agree with Barack Obama.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been trying to keep my chin up and look for the positive aspects of his Presidency.\u00a0 I remember thinking, on election night, that he would have an awfully tough time governing from the center with the Pelosi\/Reid Politburo pressuring him.<\/p>\n<p>Why is governing from the center important?\u00a0 Well, that&#8217;s what <a title=\"candidiate obama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/03\/25\/us\/politics\/25obama.html?hp\">Candidate Obama promised<\/a> and <a title=\"chicago sun times\" href=\"http:\/\/www.suntimes.com\/news\/huntley\/1265803,CST-EDT-HUNT07.article\">that&#8217;s what 3 out of 4 of the voters wanted<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>On the other side of the argument are the exit polls showing the Americans who voted Tuesday described themselves as 44 percent moderate, 34 percent conservative and only 22 percent liberal. That would seem to portray a center-right nation.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a title=\"yahoo\" href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20081205\/ap_on_go_pr_wh\/obama_sidelines\">Here&#8217;s his first test<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Democrats are growing impatient with <span class=\"yshortcuts\">President-elect<\/span> <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Barack Obama<\/span>&#8216;s refusal to inject himself in the major economic crises confronting the country. Obama has sidestepped some policy questions by saying there is only one president at a time. But the dodge is wearing thin. &#8220;He&#8217;s going to have to be more assertive than he&#8217;s been,&#8221; House <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Financial Services Committee Chairman<\/span> <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Barney Frank<\/span>, D-Mass., told consumer advocates Thursday.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Make no mistake about it, Barney Frank is a member of the Pelosi\/Reid Politburo.\u00a0 He is at the center of the <a title=\"frank raines\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3QBRIsCkGQ0\">everything is fine with Franklin <\/a>controversy that eventually blew up in our faces.\u00a0 Today, Frank and others want to divert funds appropriated for banks to the auto industry.\u00a0 Their colleagues aren&#8217;t buying it.\u00a0 What happens when the Politburo <a title=\"faithful\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.abcnews.com\/politicalradar\/2008\/12\/dems-give-bush.html\">doesn&#8217;t have the support of the Faithful<\/a>?\u00a0 It turns to its Messiah&#8230;but the Messiah is just a man&#8230; and that man doesn&#8217;t want to dirty his hands with axle grease.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Presidents-elect typically spend the transition period assembling their cabinets, their <span class=\"yshortcuts\">White House staff<\/span> and preparing to take the reins of power. But this transition is occurring at an extraordinary time, with bad economic news mounting by the day and with one of the country&#8217;s major industries begging for a hand to keep from collapsing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Two Democratic senators involved in trying to salvage the auto companies have said Obama could help move the process along and should become more engaged.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The Obama team has to step up,&#8221; <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Sen.
