Of course it is totally predictable what Inman News finds newsworthy &#8211; hacking away at Realtor commissions. Brad Inman has been on a mission from God on this issue for some years. So please don&#8217;t get the idea that only obviously crazy people are the only ones working on this vital issue. Here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/comment.g?blogID=5238062&#038;postID=116286462834371561\" target=\"_blank\">link to post<\/a> I made on Inman&#8217;s blog last week. If you are interested, here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.car.org\/index.php?id=MzY3MjU=\" target=\"_blank\">link to the video<\/a> on CAR&#8217;s website. Allan Dalton&#8217;s comments, especially the stuff in the last twenty minutes, are well worth any Realtor&#8217;s time. I especially liked his idea that yammering on about &#8220;we give great service&#8221; is NOT productive &#8211; and that no one really gives a crap. You will see what I liked so much if you watch it. The first part is quite boring but once Allan starts to talk &#8211; turn the volume up and listen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"35\" alt=\"Zip Realty Logo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/11\/ziprealty_logo.thumbnail.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Zip. A stupid name? I think so. But damn are they good at using the press! Here are some numbers they just released:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>ZipRealty Inc. (<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/quotes.nasdaq.com\/quote.dll?mode=stock&#038;page=multi&#038;symbol=zipr&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;symbol=&#038;selected=zipr\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Nasdaq: ZIPR<\/em><\/a><em>) <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/phx.corporate-ir.net\/phoenix.zhtml?c=180169&#038;p=irol-newsArticle&#038;ID=928709&#038;highlight=\" target=\"_blank\"><em>today announced<\/em><\/a><em> third-quarter net income of $600,000, down from net income of $2.9 million in third-quarter 2005. For the first nine months of the year, ZipRealty reported a net loss of $386,000 compared with net income of $2.57 million for the first nine months of 2005.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The company employed 1,747 ZipAgents as of Sept. 30, compared with 1,383 at the end of third-quarter 2005 and 1,669 at the close of second-quarter 2006.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>ZipRealty also announced that the total value of real estate transactions closed decreased about 11.8 percent in the third quarter to $1.2 billion, compared with $1.36 billion in third-quarter 2005, while the number of transactions closed fell 6 percent to 3,467 compared to the same period last year.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Please keep in mind this is a NATIONAL company.
