A date and venue. February 13 at Zillow Headquarters.\u00a0 This happens to follow a <a href=\"..\/?p=6370\">Bloodhound Unchained preview event<\/a> held the day before, also at Zillow headquarters, and also free!<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Greg and I are pretty stoked about heading to the Emerald City.\u00a0\u00a0 <a title=\"scott cowan\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scottcowan.com\/\">Scott Cowan<\/a> signed up for Bloodhound Unchained Phoenix &#8216;O8 but had to decline participation to tend to familial duties.\u00a0 Since then,\u00a0 Scott&#8217;s been lobbying us to head up to Seattle to out on our &#8220;Mini-Unchained Event&#8221; for Coffee Bean Town.\u00a0 Last month, I told him we&#8217;d gladly come if he could round up a venue and a group of eager people.\u00a0 Scott called the folks at Zillow and we arranged to be a prequel to Seattle RE BarCamp.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our event will be from 1PM until 5:30 PM, on Thursday, February 12, 2008, at the<a title=\"zillow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zillow.com\/corp\/FindUs.htm\"> Zillow Headquarters<\/a>.<\/strong> We&#8217;ll be talking about Direct Marketing (online and offline), Social Media Marketing, and Blogging.\u00a0 <a title=\"david gibbons\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zillow.com\/profile\/DavidG\/\">David Gibbons<\/a> and <a title=\"rich jacobson\" href=\"http:\/\/activerain.com\/rich\">Rich Jacobson<\/a> agreed to speak, as well.\u00a0 <a title=\"marlow harris\" href=\"http:\/\/360digest.com\/\">Marlow Harris<\/a> raised her hand to attend but I&#8217;m hopeful to have her to speak.<\/p>\n<p>Our concluding session will be a debate between Glenn Kelman of Redfin.com and Greg Swann.\u00a0 They&#8217;ll be discussing <a title=\"size matters\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=6071\">Glenn&#8217;s thoughts about whether size really matters<\/a>.\u00a0 Glenn outlines the case for why the little guy might get squashed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>This is a change. Marketing, which used to be the large brokers\u2019s primary advantage, is actually getting cheaper \u2014 if Bloodhound has proved anything, it\u2019s that the web has made marketing a question of what you have to say not how much you have to spend.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But the cost of running a real estate search site is rising fast. Large brokers throw money (if not always expertise) at the problem, while small brokers struggle to compete.
