{"id":6667,"date":"2009-01-23T06:00:42","date_gmt":"2009-01-23T13:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=6667"},"modified":"2009-01-22T19:33:56","modified_gmt":"2009-01-23T02:33:56","slug":"6667","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/6667\/6667\/","title":{"rendered":"The Agents are the Heroes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How many remember the movie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0088763\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Back to the Future<\/em><\/a>?\u00a0 I always liked the play on words in that title and I am liking it even more lately.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because as agents that is exactly what we are doing:\u00a0 going <em>back<\/em> to the future.\u00a0 I believe the marketing theme for 2009 is going to be &#8220;old school.&#8221;\u00a0 Going back to the &#8220;old school&#8221; ways of marketing&#8230; done with the tools of the future:\u00a0 <em>back<\/em> to the future.\u00a0 (Caveat: the future for me has a very Mr. Magoo aspect to it.\u00a0 I appreciate the high-tech agents among us keeping the laughter down to a mild snicker.)\u00a0 Chris Johnson understands &#8220;old school&#8221;, he was bleeding it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=6490\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=6521\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Jeff Brown understands old school &#8211; actually, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=6523\" target=\"_blank\">Jeff probably learned this stuff<\/a> when it was just &#8220;school&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Touching your sphere of influence on a consistent basis is &#8220;old school&#8221; &#8211; using emails, webinars and blogging to do it is the future.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking your marketing, your prospecting and your ROI from both is &#8220;old school&#8221; &#8211; using powerful software to do so is the future.<\/li>\n<li>Picking up the phone and calling past clients or mailing something personal <em>every day<\/em> is &#8220;old school&#8221; &#8211; knowing there is no substitute for getting belly-to-belly is the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And WE are the future.\u00a0 Those of us still here.\u00a0 Our profession lost a lot of people last year.\u00a0 Our profession needed to&#8230;\u00a0 Many of us suffered just to make it this far and some of us are suffering still\u00a0 (although some flourished&#8230; think about that).\u00a0 But the point is, we are here.\u00a0 We stuck it out because this &#8220;real estate thing&#8221; isn&#8217;t something we do on the side or because it&#8217;s easy money.\u00a0 We are her because this is our profession.\u00a0 We now reap all the opportunities of 2009&#8230; AND the responsibilities.\u00a0 It is our charge to bring integrity and passion to everything we do.\u00a0 You, all of you, are the heroes and don&#8217;t let anyone tell you otherwise.\u00a0 You help people find their way, now more so than ever before, through a giant minefield of potentially devastating mistakes on their way to buying or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/6667\/6667\/#more-6667\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How many remember the movie Back to the Future?\u00a0 I always liked the play on words in that title and I am liking it even more lately.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because as agents that is exactly what we are doing:\u00a0 going back to the future.\u00a0 I believe the marketing theme for 2009 is going to be &#8220;old [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":36,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[212],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6667","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-flourishing","no-featured-image"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":3192,"url":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/3192\/10-0-for-most-agents-what-old-school-mo-works-for-you\/","url_meta":{"origin":6667,"position":0},"title":"1.0 = !.0 For Most Agents &#8212; What Old School M.O.
