{"id":7497,"date":"2009-03-17T14:49:57","date_gmt":"2009-03-17T21:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=7497"},"modified":"2009-03-17T14:50:55","modified_gmt":"2009-03-17T21:50:55","slug":"who-needs-sit-coms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/7497\/who-needs-sit-coms\/","title":{"rendered":"Who Needs Sit-coms?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve always enjoyed well written television comedy and I&#8217;ve wondered lately why I&#8217;m not seeing as much.\u00a0 What happened to the writers?\u00a0 Believe it or not, they all moved to DC and are writing for our Congressmen!\u00a0 Oh sure, there&#8217;s a dark edge to the lines they write, but it&#8217;s classic television comedy just the same.\u00a0 The congressional outrage reported in <a title=\"Congress looking at huge taxes on AIG bonuses\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/feeds\/ap\/2009\/03\/17\/ap6178184.html\" target=\"_blank\">this AP story<\/a> on the AIG bonus debacle is a perfect example.<\/p>\n<p>AIG notified all involved, <em>over a year ago<\/em>, that these bonuses were contractually due and payable this quarter.\u00a0 Former President Bush knew, current President Obama knew, the various financial players in the administration knew and Congress knew.\u00a0 But that doesn&#8217;t prevent Senator Chuck Schumer, D-NY, from issuing this power-drunk one liner: &#8220;If you don&#8217;t return it on your own, <strong>we&#8217;ll do it for you<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 (If I had written the scene Sen.
