{"id":8052,"date":"2009-04-23T18:53:34","date_gmt":"2009-04-24T01:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=8052"},"modified":"2009-04-25T09:43:28","modified_gmt":"2009-04-25T16:43:28","slug":"what-a-completely-virtual-real-estate-solution-looks-like","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/8052\/what-a-completely-virtual-real-estate-solution-looks-like\/","title":{"rendered":"What a Completely Virtual Real Estate Solution Looks Like"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=7986\" target=\"_blank\">Per my earlier post regarding the evolution of technology driven real estate solutions<\/a>, I believe the next generation of buyers and sellers will be more empowered to search, purchase and sell real estate themselves, without the services of a real estate professional.<\/p>\n<p>At the highest level, the success of an entirely virtual solution rests in its ability to clearly and confidently shepherd a potential buyer or seller through the process of buying and or selling.\u00a0 Very few sites provide a path to success.\u00a0 The irony for me was what I found while reviewing do-it-yourself real estate sites\/services.\u00a0 In my opinion, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helpusell.com\/Buyers_Your_Terms.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">www.helpusell.com<\/a> provides decent content regarding the &#8220;how&#8217;s and what&#8217;s&#8221; of buying and selling.\u00a0\u00a0 I am not holding Help-U-Sell as a beacon of light, but merely a site which provides far more content regarding the &#8220;how&#8221; of buying than the &#8220;what&#8221; to buy.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of technology solutions has been too highly skewed towards the data and not the content nor the process.<\/p>\n<p>Clients are not looking for listings &#8211; they are looking for <em>homes<\/em>.\u00a0 Do not underestimate the connotation or meaning of <strong>home<\/strong>.\u00a0 Data is not the answer &#8211; it is part of the solution.\u00a0 The solution is achieved by execution.\u00a0 Execution requires clearly defined, repeating steps &#8211; a process.<\/p>\n<p>There is a lot of chatter regarding how to keep potential prospects &#8220;stuck&#8221; on your site.\u00a0 Many believe that IDX property search is critical.\u00a0 Important?\u00a0 Maybe &#8211; but if you are relying on search capability as your differentiator, you&#8217;re wrong.\u00a0 I argue spending a majority of your time and effort building content around the process &#8211; mapping out the steps &#8211; one by one &#8211; specifically what needs to be done to get from beginning to close will get them stuck &#8211; <em>FIRMLY<\/em> &#8211; on your site.\u00a0 Everything else is secondary to the process.<\/p>\n<p>So what does a completely virtual solution look like?<\/p>\n<p>First and foremost, it assumes that there is no real estate professional involved with<em> managing<\/em> the process &#8211; or providing &#8220;services&#8221;.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re recoiling from that last statement, I merely ask, have you mapped out the process step-by-step and defined what you do at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/8052\/what-a-completely-virtual-real-estate-solution-looks-like\/#more-8052\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Per my earlier post regarding the evolution of technology driven real estate solutions, I believe the next generation of buyers and sellers will be more empowered to search, purchase and sell real estate themselves, without the services of a real estate professional.
