{"id":8397,"date":"2009-05-13T09:18:54","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T16:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/?p=8397"},"modified":"2009-05-13T09:18:54","modified_gmt":"2009-05-13T16:18:54","slug":"prospecting-numbers-real-and-acutal-in-case-you-wanna-skin-some-cats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/8397\/prospecting-numbers-real-and-acutal-in-case-you-wanna-skin-some-cats\/","title":{"rendered":"Prospecting Numbers, Real And Acutal (In Case You Wanna Skin Some Cats)."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Skinning cats requires that I&#8217;m on the phone.\u00a0 A lot.\u00a0 I&#8217;m all 2.0, that works, but it&#8217;s a tool.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the numbers from a week of prospecting where I actually hit the phones each day.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m targeted here, calling folks from twitter and linkedin and others.\u00a0 (People always ask how I get the numbers.\u00a0 Even when the number is prominent on the website).\u00a0 I&#8217;m pulling folks into a spreadsheet, and sorting it by called\/uncalled.\u00a0 I&#8217;m using Google Docs for much of this.\u00a0 I do it at a stand-up-desk on my old PC.\u00a0 Anyway, if I could bring myself to do it more&#8211;and I think I will&#8211;then its scalable.<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;m doing is feeding people into a database and then I&#8217;ll work them from there.\u00a0 My goals are to:\u00a0 1.) Make Direct Sales, 2.) Get people in my database.<\/p>\n<p>Total Time Calling: 7 hours, 30 minutes.\u00a0 (50 minute hour&#8211;25 minutes with 5 minute break, 25 minutes with 5 minute break).<\/p>\n<p>Total dials:\u00a0 641.\u00a0 (I use Skype to measure this, and I simple went in my call history and sorted by times).<\/p>\n<p>Total Contacts (where I get a live person and not a voice mail):\u00a0 168<\/p>\n<p>Leads Generated (people that want an email that&#8217;s not just a blowoff):\u00a0 51<\/p>\n<p>Blogs Sold:\u00a0 9\u00a0 (12 total sold).<\/p>\n<p>Sales on First Pitch:\u00a0 1 (was a linkedin Acquaintance that had intended to do a blog for a long time).<\/p>\n<p>Sales off of email\/video:\u00a0 5<\/p>\n<p>Sales on 2nd-3rd pitch: 2<\/p>\n<p>Per sale, my revenue is $750ish.\u00a0 My take after fees and stuff is $500ish.\u00a0 This is one of my sources of income, and it&#8217;s the most significant one at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230;I attempted to call and sell 641 times.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a dial every minute and change.\u00a0 I failed all but nine times.\u00a0\u00a0 .014 batting average.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is always a serious suck factor when I&#8217;m making calls.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t always enjoy it.\u00a0 I do procrastinate and try to find something more interesting to do.\u00a0 It is tedious at times.\u00a0 It is hard to stay up and active for an hour and 20 minutes a day.\u00a0 Not impossible.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m telling you all this because it works.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t let anyone tell you anything different.\u00a0 Failure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodhoundrealty.com\/BloodhoundBlog\/8397\/prospecting-numbers-real-and-acutal-in-case-you-wanna-skin-some-cats\/#more-8397\" class=\"more-link\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Skinning cats requires that I&#8217;m on the phone.\u00a0 A lot.\u00a0 I&#8217;m all 2.0, that works, but it&#8217;s a tool.
