I\u2019ve decided that following big pharma\u2019s TV marketing playbook to launch a search engine that is supposed to compete with Google is an idea so dumb, it could only have been approved by whoever thought that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UKM8kCPBn5E\">Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates walking around a mall<\/a> would make people think Vista doesn\u2019t suck.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, there is a condition called \u201csearch overload\u201d. I didn\u2019t know it existed until I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_HlxLMExPQw\">the Bing commercial last night<\/a>, but now I think I might have it.<\/p>\n<p>According to the commercial, symptoms of \u201csearch overload\u201d include feelings of being blind-sided by what\u2019s happened to the economy, high gas prices,\u00a0 and anger that Google didn\u2019t tell me that housing prices don\u2019t always go up.<\/p>\n<p>I feel compelled to ask my doctor about Bing.<\/p>\n<p>You see, unlike regular search engines, Bing doesn\u2019t just give you what you ask for, it helps you to make decisions \u2013 it\u2019s a \u201cdecision engine\u201d (uh-huh)\u00a0 and using it to make decisions for you makes your life better.<\/p>\n<p>(Bing isn\u2019t for everyone: People who know how to use a search engine may actually feel themselves getting dumber while using Bing.<\/p>\n<p>If you thought the Bing ad was the funniest thing on Conan O\u2019Brien\u2019s Late Show last night, be sure to mention that to your Doctor when you ask about Bing.<\/p>\n<p>If blaming Google for the economic collapse makes sense to you for more than 4 hours, proceed to the nearest Verizon store and purchase a Windows Mobile device.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bing!
